At the Martino Midali FASHION FACTORY HUB in Via Pitteri 17, we are pleased to welcome Il Duomo all'Ortica, a new project by ORME Ortica Memoria and Orticanoodles, art collective well-known in the Milanese district.

"A poem engraved in marble", as described by its creator Walter Contipelli, aka Wally, Il Duomo all'Ortica is a tribute to the city, in a painted and enlarged version. This is the first of five mural paintings, representing the cathedral from the central aisle to the steeples, right up to the 'tiny and golden' Madonnina, which will be the largest in the world (25 metres) in the murales version, and which will also overlook the courtyard of our FASHION FACTORY HUB.

These works join the other 12 of 20 urban art works that have been converting an entire area in the eastern suburbs of Milan into the world's first open-air museum district since 2015. Midali has always been in love with this district and its evolution, and fully shares its pop taste and is constantly inspired by its contemporary creative look. "Ortica will be Milan's new down town".

The inauguration took place yesterday, 21 June 2020, in the presence of the Vice Mayor of Milan Anna Scavuzzo, the President of City Hall 3 Caterina Antola, the artist Wally Contipelli of Orticanoodles, and with the blessing of Monsignor Carlo Azzimonti. All in restricted form and with due precautions considering the ongoing emergency.
