MARTINO MIDALI AWARDED WITH THE AMBROGINO D'ORO

The designer-entrepreneur was honoured with the prestigious Ambrogino d'oro award by the Municipality of Milan for the public and community commitment and respect for the local area that he has always shown.

In keeping with tradition, today, on the occasion of the feast of Saint Ambrose, patron saint of Milan, were assigned the Ambrogino d'oro awards, the highest municipal honour reserved for those citizens who for various reasons have brought prestige to the city, enhancing and protecting it. And this year's award-winners also included fashion designer Martino Midali, who received the recognition during a ceremony held at the Teatro dal Verme, Milan, in the presence of Mayor Giuseppe Sala.

The entrepreneur designer, milanese by adoption, has not only revolutionised Made in Italy fashion by establishing, right from the start, a very inclusive approach and respect for fluid physicality, not caged in rigid labels, but has also consistently shown a strong focus on local issues, both socially and culturally.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of his label, this year, during Fashion Week in September, he created a fashion show manifesto against violence against women. During his career, Martino Midali has also pursued a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing the territory of Milan, its beauty and its artistic dimension, as in the project that involved the Ortica district or in transforming the windows of his boutiques into true works of contemporary art.

The fashion designer expressed his heartfelt gratitude for receiving such an important award, which is also a strong incentive to continue with even further energy in the future.
