The Martino Midali's Fall Winter 23.24 fashion show was an all-female tale to celebrate the 40th anniversary of a brand always focused on democratic, inclusive and versatile fashion. At the Circolo Filologico in Milan on the catwalk were, alongside the models, six women of different shapes, styles and occupations, who have chosen the brand to wear their everyday life with creations designed to enhance all female bodies, a concept that has always been part of the work of the designer, one of the first to conceive fashion truly for women. At the opening of the fashion show soprano Silvia Colombini, a multifaceted artist of international reputation, made a musical tribute with her singing to all women and, in particular, to the beautiful women of Midali.
The next Fall Winter collection features a story that speaks of freedom - of proportions, of shapes, of movement - and in which layering becomes the styling mantra to explore the ethnic influences that, from Morocco to India, add life to the soul of this garments, from long tunic effect dresses to multi-layered outfits. The tricot fabric plays a major role in architectural creations woven by yarns that draw fluid shapes between powerful colour shades and textural contrasts, structured outerwear in dialogue with extremely long scarves, in a continuous exploration of materials and colours. A blend of influences that is also interpreted by the various stories of these regular women who find themselves in the versatile femininity of the brand and who have decided, literally, to wear it on the runway.
"The women who dress Midali are not wearing one of my garments but are interpreting it".
This same philosophy drives the steps of the models for a day: Marina Malanca (journalist and former model), Gegia Celotti (journalist and writer), Angela del Re (former ballerina) Bruna Annibaldi, Carmen Vierchowod, Gloria Fossati. To finish the runway look Martino Midali asked to designer Barbara Cardamone to create an handcrafted jewellery collection, made with stones and recycled materials collected from her travels, perfect for a woman conscious of the present but fascinated by the past.
